Behind The Curtain: Mind Game's In The Music And Entertainment World

In the music and entertainment world, egos don’t just collide — they ignite

The stage, the spotlight, and the constant chase for recognition create a perfect storm where confidence can morph into competition. Here’s why those sparks fly more often than in other industries.

Artists pour their souls into their work. Every lyric, riff, or scene becomes a piece of their identity. When creative visions clash, it’s not just disagreement; it feels personal. Two strong voices fighting for artistic truth can quickly turn into a battle of pride.

Unlike most careers, success here is measured in applause, followers, and fame. That external validation fuels ego. When one performer’s spotlight dims because another’s shines brighter, insecurity creeps in, and egos flare!

The entertainment business thrives on hierarchy, producers, directors, managers, agents, and stars all jockeying for control. Creative freedom often clashes with commercial pressure, and those power struggles can turn collaboration into combat.

The same intensity that drives great art also drives conflict. Long hours, high stakes, and emotional investment amplify tension. When passion meets exhaustion, even small disagreements can explode!

Egos clash because the industry rewards individuality while demanding teamwork.

It’s a paradox: you have to stand out, but you also have to play well with others. The trick is learning to channel that fire into creation, not destruction!

In the end, ego clashes are just the noise behind the music, the friction that sometimes fuels the fire. In an industry built on passion, performance, and personal vision, sparks inevitably fly. The trick isn’t avoiding the clash; it’s learning to turn that tension into rhythm, to let the art, not the argument, take center stage!

So, who wins these ego battles? No One.

Who loses? The Fans!

What a Legendary Journalist Taught Me: Lessons That Still Hold Up Fifty-Eight Years Later Today!

When I first stepped into the wild, wonderful world of media back in 1968, I was blessed to have a world‑famous journalist take me under his wing. He gave me five rules that shaped my entire life: always tell the truth, always write with a positive light, be kind to everyone you meet, if you can’t write something good, don’t write it, and, his favorite, always write under an assumed name (Ghost Title), because the world is full of jealous (and sometimes crazy) people.

He told me that if I lived by those rules, I just might become a lifer in this business.

Well… 58 years later, here I am, still writing, still loving every minute of it!

So now I’m turning the question to all my friends in the music and entertainment world:

What advice, what rules, would you give a talented newcomer who wants a long, peaceful, and successful career in the music & entertainment industry?

I’d love to hear your wisdom!

Onstage Offstage Always On: The 24 Hour Job Of Being A Las Vegas Musician

Being a local musician in Las Vegas isn’t a part‑time identity; it’s a 24‑hour profession, onstage and off.

The moment you step into the public eye, you’re representing your band, your brand, and your city’s music community. That means being kind to fans, respectful to staff, and treating media relationships like part of the job, not an inconvenience.

But it goes deeper: people watch how you carry yourself at the bar, how you talk to other musicians, how you handle pressure, how you respond online, and how you treat the folks who can’t do anything for you. Your reputation becomes your currency.

In a town built on word‑of‑mouth, professionalism, gratitude, consistency, and community presence matter just as much as the music does. That’s why being a musician here isn’t just a gig, it’s a full‑time public role that never clocks out!

In the end, being a Las Vegas musician means embracing the responsibility that comes with the spotlight. This city rewards the artists who show up with heart, humility, and professionalism, not just onstage, but everywhere their name carries weight. When you treat people right, honor the craft, and represent the community with pride, the scene gives it back tenfold. In Vegas, your music gets you noticed, but your character is what keeps you booked.

AI Google on Steroids: The Truth Nobody Wants To Admit

Most people are terrified of AI, Artificial Intelligence, like it’s some sci‑fi monster waiting to jump out of the shadows.

But when it first blew up, I didn’t panic. I saw the wave coming and decided to ride it, not run from it.

I took a certificate course, spent three months studying the tech, the ethics, the hype, and the reality. And after all that, my conclusion was simple, honest, and accurate: “AI is like Google, but on steroids.”

It’s faster, sharper, and way more conversational, but at the end of the day, it’s still a tool. The fear comes from not understanding it.

How do you think I’ve lasted so long (58 years) in the media business?

By staying ahead of the curve.

Try AI, you might just like it!
